BSC SYSTEMS’ Quality Assurance Program

BSC defines Quality Assurance as all actions taken to ensure that standards and procedures are adhered to and that delivered products or services meet performance requirements. It includes the policy, procedures, and systematic actions established in an enterprise for the purpose of providing and maintaining a specified degree of confidence in data and system integrity and accuracy throughout the system's life cycle.

Quality Control is the part of quality management focused on fulfilling quality requirements. It often refers to Inspection of finished products, meaning to check whether they meet the desired Requirements and Specifications.

QA and QC roles monitor project life cycle activities by applying checklists and standards to ensure that each activity meets proper exit and entry criteria. The results are communicated to Program Control, whose role is to assure that quality, as well as schedule and cost objectives, are being met and that risks and issues are promptly identified and that appropriate actions are taken to mitigate the risks or address the issues.

QA/QC collaborates with IV&V, Program Control, and other managers to support business process transformation through a variety of quality tools and methods (e.g., checklists, walkthroughs, root cause analyses, scorecards, risk management, issue tracking). These tools and methods provide a quality framework for the program activities.

The quality strategy is to apply formal controls to program and project initiatives as well as the components they produce.
